🎉 Warawul turns 2🎉
To celebrate, we’re releasing a limited edition Cascaritas Chardonnay — a light-roasted Pacas from Moisés Hidardo Hernández of CAFEMO in Honduras, fermented with Chardonnay yeast. Available in very limited quantities through Überlegen and our online-shop.

Two years ago, on October 26, 2023, Anabel, Brenda, Chris, and Zoulka founded warawul together.
From the very beginning, warawul’s mission has been to work hand in hand with individual producers as well as cooperatives and producer-led initiatives — creating a platform that amplifies their voices and enables them to tell their stories in their own words.
Since May 2025, we have been a member of the Ăśberlegen Collective, a network and online marketplace of roasters who trade coffee transparently, fairly, and sustainably. Joining Ăśberlegen has given us new momentum and connected us with a vibrant community of roasteries that share the same commitment to transparency, fairness, and exceptional coffee.

To celebrate 2 years of warawul. and Überlegen’s anniversary, we are releasing a limited edition of Cascaritas Chardonnay — a light-roasted Pacas from Moisés Hidardo Hernández, founder of the CAFEMO Cooperative in Mercedes, Honduras, and a fourth-generation smallholder coffee farmer with a passion for microlots. The coffee was fermented with Chardonnay yeast.
“I love to experiment,” Hidardo tells us. “With new or lesser-known varieties, with processes like anaerobic fermentation, and with different types of yeasts or enzymes. Sometimes that leads to very distinctive — even radical — flavor profiles.”
We couldn’t resist the chance to bring Hidardo’s Honey-Enzyme and Chardonnay-Yeast Pacas to Berlin. This coffee is roasted as a light espresso to bring out notes of black tea, blackberry and grapefruit. It's available in very limited quantities through our website and through Überlegen.
