Coming Soon: New Direct Relationships in Colombia & Ethiopia
This summer and fall we’re inaugurating two new direct relationships — one in Colombia, one in Ethiopia. These new connections are rooted in shared values and the kind of conversations that start with a DM and lead to something much bigger.

From Colombia: Cristian Reyes & Hacienda El Rodeo
We first connected with Cristian Reyes via Instagram last year. A few days later, he was sitting with us in our Neukölln café, telling us about his family’s coffee farm—Hacienda El Rodeo—located in Curití, Santander, in central Colombia. Cristian splits his time between Colombia, where he helps his parents Alfonso Reyes and Martha Camacho with harvest and processing, and Berlin, where he focuses on building relationships with roasters like us.
Cristian shared stories about his family's success in regional and national coffee competitions, and the real logistical challenges of exporting coffee independently. After a year of staying in touch, we’re excited to finally bring in our first lot from Hacienda El Rodeo: a beautiful washed Castillo, set to launch in September. We’re excited to dial in roast profiles and expect to offer this coffee for both espresso and filter—it’s that versatile and delicious.
From Ethiopia: Fitsum Bekere & Lensa Gari Washing Station
Through Cristian, we were introduced to Fitsum Bekere, manager of Lensa Gari Washing Station in the highlands of Guji, Ethiopia. Cristian and Fitsum met while studying Coffee Science and Economics in Italy—a testament to how global and connected the coffee world can be.
Cristian brought us a natural-processed Guji heirloom from Fitsum, and it stopped us in our tracks. It’s a coffee full of fruit and fragrance, elegance and clarity — everything we love about Ethiopian naturals. This coffee is scheduled to arrive in Berlin later in 2025, and we’re counting the days until we can share it with you.

Cristian and Fitsum will be giving a short talk about their work, their journeys, and the coffees they care deeply about. It’s a rare opportunity to hear directly from the producers—and we’d love to see you there.
