Say hello to El Mandarino, a fruity Parainema Anaerobic Natural from Rosy Dariela Mancía ☀️

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of El Mandarino, an anaerobic natural Parainema from Honduras and our first coffee from producer Rosy Dariela Mancía. This coffee is part of our 2025 seasonal lineup, available in very limited quantities, and a very special addition to our offering.

    Meet Rosy Dariela Mancía

Dariela grew up in a coffee-farming family. Together with her husband Roy Hernández, she inherited a modest plot of land, just 1.7 hectares in total when they started. Back then, both worked full-time jobs and farmed coffee during nights and weekends.

In 2016 they joined CAFESMO, a Honduran cooperative of over 280 smallholder farms committed to quality, sustainability, and fair trade. Through CAFESMO they gained access to training, technical support, and a network of specialty buyers.

As demand for their micro-lots grew, Dariela gradually left her formal job to focus full-time on coffee production. With the income from their microlots, they even purchased an additional 0.35 ha of land, and are planting new varieties (like Catucaí Amarelo 2L).

Beyond farming, Rosy plays a key role in CAFESMO as leader of the co-op’s women producers group, advocating for recognition and fair opportunities for female coffee farmers in Honduras.

This is the first year we source from Rosy Dariela Mancía and the first release of El Mandarino under our roastery. We first connected with Dariela through Sebastian Wiersma (CAFESMO's head of international sales) and Hidardo Hernández (co founder of CAFESMO and Dariela's neighbor). We are so excited about how good this coffee is tasting.

Your purchase of this coffee directly supports a smallholder farmer, empowers a woman in coffee, and contributes to a fair, transparent supply chain. If you appreciate experimental, fruit-forward, naturally processed coffees, this Parainema delivers an exciting, unusual profile. This year’s harvest is available in extremely limited quantities 👀
